Description
Summary:The insulation material provides reduces the heat loss or gain into the structures. Several insulation materials are used to attain the desired comfort conditions. In this proposed work, insulation materials namely rock wool, Fiber Glass and Polyurethane foam (PUF) are used in sequence. The solar thermal system receives heat energy which is used to produce cold or hot water through Phase Change Materials (PCM) by utilizing its latent heat. The temperature distribution through various layers and materials are predicted by means of ANSYS Fluent simulation. Also, the temperature variation due to seasonal changes for various insulation materials are computed. It is concluded that PUF insulation provides better performance compared to other materials.
