Influence of 1-butyl-3-propylimidazolium bromide on viscometric and conductometric behavior of proteinogenic amino acids (glycine and L-alanine)

In the present study, conductance and viscosity values have been measured for aliphatic amino acids; glycine and L-alanine in aqueous solutions of 1-Butyl-3-propyl imidazolium bromide, ([BPim][Br]) (mIL=0.01, 0.03 and 0.05 mol kg−1) at different temperatures and atmospheric pressure. Using conductan...

Description
Summary:In the present study, conductance and viscosity values have been measured for aliphatic amino acids; glycine and L-alanine in aqueous solutions of 1-Butyl-3-propyl imidazolium bromide, ([BPim][Br]) (mIL=0.01, 0.03 and 0.05 mol kg−1) at different temperatures and atmospheric pressure. Using conductance as well as viscosity data, various thermodynamic parameters have been investigated which in turn assisted to infer the molecular interactions occurring in the (glycine/L-alanine + water + ([BPim][Br])). From conductance values, limiting molar conductivities have been determined using Onsager equation and further, Walden product have been computed. Joules-Dole equation have been analyzed using viscosity data. A and B-coefficients of Joules-Dole equation and temperature derivative of B-coefficient have also been calculated. Moreover, Eyring transition state theory utilized to compute different viscous flow’s activation parameters.
