Summary: | The manufacture of tool electrodes for electric discharge machining by selective laser melting (SLM) is considered. Specifically, the influence of the manufacturing conditions on the precision of the resulting electrodes is investigated. The formulas derived may be used to ensure the specified accuracy and strength of the tool electrodes produced by selective laser melting. The manufacturing conditions established ensure permissible internal stress in the tool electrodes. That leads to stable growth of the tool electrodes, without separation from the substrate. |
