Description
Summary:Stand-alone PV techniques is one of the attractive electricity production schemes among all renewable energy sources. But it not most commercially because of its material cost and seasonal dependency etc. Also these difficulties can be mitigated by using simple linear flat concentrator for small- scale household and agricultural applications with the optimal geometrical model. In this paper, a 1 KW stand-alone Photovoltaic system was designed and implemented with the linear V-trough concentrator. Concentrator PV (CPV) system the optical mirrors should be located with optimum angles according to trough angle, tilt angle etc. This study the tracking is to be reduced into seasonal tilting (April-September) and (October– March) with optimum trough angle of the reflector for both 1-sun and 2-sun concentration. The shading effect of the optical reflector can be analyzed by using the PV-syst shading analysis. The entire system was experimentally tested with Multi-crystalline PV module coupled with the sub-systems. The performance of the normal system and a concentrated system was characterized according to the electrical and thermal characteristicscurves.
