Summary:ZusammenfassungIt was shown that addition of glutaraldehyde to a commercial MUF resin results in increased hot water resistance. Glutaraldehyde-blended resin is reactive towards wood constituents, thus adhesive-wood interactions improve its performance. 90% increase in shear strength of the bondline as well as increased percentage of wood failure from 10 to 85% was achieved.
