In view of the poor accuracy of the traditional calculation method for the mechanical load of the full rotation crane ship, an automatic calculation method for the mechanical load of the full rotation crane ship based on the flow function theory is proposed. Based on the hydrodynamic model and flow function theory, the motion response of the super large full rotation crane ship Lanjing in irregular waves is calculated. Based on Morison equation and current function theory, the nonlinear wave mechanical load of the full rotation crane ship is calculated. The calculation results show that the method can accurately calculate the mechanical load of Lanjing. It can be concluded that with the decrease of the diameter of Lanjing pile, the wave peak point is gradually shifted to the wave peak position, and the lag phenomenon of nonlinear wave force peak is weakened. At the same time, the method can effectively calculate the wave mechanical load of Lanjing in towing and operating conditions.
