Description
Summary:In this study, TiO2 nanoparticles have been successfully dilated on clay roof tiles using a simple spray method combined with heating. The coating process was initiated by dispersing TiO2 powder in distilled water. There are five samples made based on the number of TiO2 coating. The samples were then tested for self-cleaning and thermal reducing abilities. The self-cleaning ability test was carried out in a methylene blue photodegradation experiment, which was superimposed on the surface of samples. The result showed that titania roof tile with 3 times coating showed the best performance. Meanwhile, the thermal reducing capability test showed that the TiO2 layer's presence on the roof tile surface had decreased the surface temperature at about 1-3°C. SEM-EDX and FTIR analysis showed that TiO2 was successfully coated on the surface of the titania roof tile. Meanwhile, based on the results of XRD characterization, we recognized that the TiO2 used is pure anatase TiO2.
