Description
Summary:Versions of the neutron source multiplication (NSM) method are considered. The method developed at foreign research institutes to determine the reactivity of deeply subcritical reactors uses reactivity of the “reference” level. Further, the results of the use in the above methods and in the area ratio method of the computational experiment simulation technique that yields sufficiently precise data without involving the reference level are discussed. The practicability of applying the method of the computational experiment simulation to the versions of the neutron source multiplication methods used at some institutes of Russia in the procedure of critical mass experiments is validated.
