Summary: | The Xishimen skarn iron deposit, which is controlled by a deep fault, is located at the contact of small monzodiorite intrusions with Paleozoic–Mesozoic carbonate rocks. This deposit includes several lenticular and lens-like bodies. The formation of the ores resulted from the processes of ore matter recycling. The process proceeded in several stages. The primary sedimentary and volcanogenic–sedimentary ores were formed in the Archean–Lower Proterozoic. This was followed by several stages of tectonic–magmatic activization, among which the most significant was the Anshan (Jurassic–Cretaceous) stage. In the course of recycling, the monzodioritic magma was enriched in siderophile elements of the Early Precambrian and formed a series of Fe deposits in the zone of deep faults. |
