Ultra-High Energy Cosmic Ray Study Results by Radio Emission Technique at Yakutsk Array

The Yakutsk array is designed to study cosmic rays at energy 10 15 –10 20 eV. The array detects charged particles, muons, Cherenkov light and radio emission. Radio-emission method is capable to study air shower physics independently of other shower components, including energy estimation of primary...

Description
Summary:The Yakutsk array is designed to study cosmic rays at energy 10 15 –10 20 eV. The array detects charged particles, muons, Cherenkov light and radio emission. Radio-emission method is capable to study air shower physics independently of other shower components, including energy estimation of primary particle, longitudinal development of the particle cascade in the atmosphere (in the case of the Yakutsk array the depth of maximum development X max ). For the showers with energy E ⩾ 10 19 eV arrival directions were tracked and reconstructed in galactic and equatorial coordinate system to search for cosmic ray sources with such energies.
