Summary: | Cadmium calcium pyrophosphate-doped Dy
3+
ions were prepared through solution combustion technique and evaluated in the present study. The structural and luminescence measurements were carried out to reveal average crystallite size, vibrational bands, morphology and emission spectrum for white illumination. The diffuse reflectance spectra for cadmium calcium pyrophosphate doped with Dy
3+
were also recorded and, with the help of Kubelka–Munk theory, the band gap of the material was obtained. The Commission Internationale de I’Eclairage coordinates [(
x
,
y
) = (0.272, 0.281)], colour rendering index and colour purity of the prepared sample were calculated. Wide band gap and good photometric parameters of cadmium calcium pyrophosphate: Dy
3+
indicate that it can be utilized in the fields of display devices and light-emitting diodes. |
