Summary: | The boom in information technology has produced a coextensive explosion in the array and nature of services offered by banks to their customers. The most pronounced of these changes are occurring at the level of bank teller services, either through the simplification of tasks which still require people to be performed or, in some instances, by obviating the need for human intervention altogether. This revolution in information technology has enormous cost-cutting potential for banks because it stands to exponentially increase the speed of their operations as well as to reduce the number of employees they require to carry them out. |
