Contribution of intermetallics to the formation of the stress-strain state of tensile welds on the AISI 321 steel and the grade 2 titanium alloy with a copper insert
The paper presents modeling of the tension of a laser weld, produced by carbon dioxide laser, on the AISI 321 steel and the Grade 2 titanium alloy with a copper insert. Summary: | The paper presents modeling of the tension of a laser weld, produced by carbon dioxide laser, on the AISI 321 steel and the Grade 2 titanium alloy with a copper insert. A finite element model in the ANSYS environment is used for the modeling, which describes the actual weld geometry and phase composition. The influence of intermetallics on the redistribution of the accumulated strain and stresses through the weld thickness, favorably affecting the welded joint strength, is demonstrated. |
