Mobile Words: Romantic Travel Writing and Print Anxiety

Ferris points out the notorious weaknesses of travel writing in the early 1800s and discusses the critical responses to such writing. Most travel writing was excruciatingly long and boring, and travel writers often imported the texts of others into their own writing.
