Summary: | Temperature based, quasi dynamic model of dish thermal plant is developed. The model has been simulated with available meteorological data, with different resolution for a site location in Kuwait. Results are obtained with measured meteorological data of 60 minutes and 10 minutes resolution and effect of different data resolution is analyzed on yearly, monthly and daily bases. Coherences between high and low resolution data is investigated. Reasons for system behavior under certain meteorological data resolution is identified. It is observed that the effect of meteorological data resolution is more significant on daily and monthly estimations as compared to yearly yield estimation. 10 minutes resolution data provided 1% higher yield estimate as compared to 1 hour resolution data. However, on time span of month and day this difference is sharper; during the span of a day, difference between yield predictions from two data resolution as high as 6% is seen. |
