MARKEDLY ELEVATED PERICARDIAL FLUID LEVELS OF PERIOSTIN ARE INVOLVED IN LEFT VENTRICULAR DYSFUNCTION WITH CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE

Methods With an electrochemiluminescent immunoassay, we measured the concentrations of periostin in serum and pericardial fluid simultaneously in 79 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting consisting of mild ischemia group (MI group, n=36) and severe ischemia group (SI group, n=43). Conc...

Description
Summary:Methods With an electrochemiluminescent immunoassay, we measured the concentrations of periostin in serum and pericardial fluid simultaneously in 79 patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting consisting of mild ischemia group (MI group, n=36) and severe ischemia group (SI group, n=43). Conclusion Increased PF concentrations of periostin reflect the direct actions as a local mediator against cardiac remodeling in CAD patients with left ventricular systolic dysfunction.
