Description
Summary:Materials and methods (case report): Adult patients (age range, 18-80 years) admitted to the Department of Infectious Diseases and with probable or confirmed severe bacterial infection were enrolled. Discussion: High serum levels of calgranulin C and calprotectin during severe bacterial infection and their decline associated with the clinical improvement implicate possible utilization of these proteins as early biomarkers of bacterial infection.
