Summary: | The influence of temperature and duration of heat treatment of heavy cycle oil on the group composition, coking value, softening temperature, and mesophase content of petroleum pitches has been studied. The onset temperature of mesophase transformations during the heat treatment of isotropic pitch obtained from the heavy cycle oil has been established. The possibility of producing fiber-forming pitches with a plastic liquid-crystalline phase content of more than 90% from heavy cycle oil has been shown. |
