Neural Correlates of Reward Processing are Modulated by CNTNAP-2 Genotype in Children with and without Autism

In this study we examined the relationship between allelic variants previously associated with autism and functional activity, as measured by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), in children with and without autism. Methods 16 boys with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) (12.4 + 2.14 years) an...

Description
Summary:In this study we examined the relationship between allelic variants previously associated with autism and functional activity, as measured by functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), in children with and without autism. Methods 16 boys with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) (12.4 + 2.14 years) and 16 age- and IQ-matched typically developing (TD) boys underwent scanning while performing a probabilistic classification task known to elicit frontostriatal activity in typical populations.
