More importantly, perhaps, it is relevant to the deliberations of policy-makers in the Asia-Pacific region and further afield, as they grapple with the challenge of finding fresh approaches that can assist in the resolution of Burma's complex and deep-seated problems at this critical point in its political, economic and social development.
