Summary: | Geographical studies of ethnic groups have used concepts and definitions borrowed from anthropology and sociology. These studies have evolved through a series of themes in human ecology, Americanization, acculturation and assimilation, cultural transfer and settlement, and interaction and identity. A more precise understanding of the importance of ethnicity to spatial problems can be gained by microscale studies. |
