Summary: | In Barkley Sound, British Columbia, Pelagic Cormorants (Phalacrocorax pelagicus) have suffered massive declines of up to 85% since 1969. This decline is thought to be due in part to disturbance by humans and Bald Eagles (Haliaeetus leucocephalus). Clyde et al investigate the causes of this decline and undertook a brief study of Pelagic Cormonants within Barkley Sound during the nesting period in the summer 2011. |
