Description
Summary:Norman Leslie Roberts passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, Jun 12, 2012, at his home in Woodland Hills, CA. Roberts was born in Yakima, WA, on Jan 17, 1935, and attended Gonzaga University, where he received both his undergraduate and law degrees. He served in the US Army from 1959-1968, attaining the rank of major and becoming one of three administrative law judges for the US Army European Board of Contract Appeals. In the American Bar Association Section of Public Contract Law, he was chair of the International Procurement Committee from 1982-1984 and later served as a council member from 1984-1987. Roberts was legendary as both a leader and a motivator of people. No one ran a tighter or more efficient council meeting than Roberts, and even today his meeting management skills are still often referred to as the gold standard. He was always positive and upbeat and never had a bad word to say about anyone.
