A waveband switching architecture and algorithm for dynamic traffic

The proposed multi-granular optical cross-connect (MG-OXC) architecture and heuristic algorithm significantly reduce the number of used ports and hence the cost of an existing network, and also help in reducing the blocking probability of dynamic connection requests.
