Description
Summary:From late 1924, the Alexanderson alternator and his multiple tuned antenna system at Grimeton, Sweden, were used for VLF communication from SAQ to "Radio Central", Rocky Point, Long Island, USA. During the Second World War and for some years after that, the Royal Swedish Navy used SAQ for traffic to submerged submarines, in retrospect crucial for the survival of the station, still in perfect working order and put on the world heritage list in 2004.
