Summary: | Recently, energy harvesting from human motion and its environment has gained considerable interest given its potential to provide safe and clean energy to portable electronic devices. Nevertheless, the energy produced is insufficient to meet the load needs. In this paper, a hybrid photovoltaic/ thermoelectric/piezoelectric system is used along with a Li-ion battery to power a smart cell phone. The model is developed in Matlab/Simulink and includes a preliminary proposal for an energy management system to balance energy production with consumption. The model performance is validated numerically with a standard deviation of 0,14V of the DC Link voltage. |
