Summary: | As the main protocol of delay/disruption-tolerant networking (DTN) technology, bundle protocol (BP) was intended for reliable data transmission in space communication networks or other networking scenarios characterized by a long propagation delay, channel asymmetry, and link disruptions. A very limited number of studies have been done in studying the transmission performance of BP in space internetwork. In this paper, analytical modeling is presented for estimating the expected file delivery time of BP in space internetwork in presence of asymmetric channels accompanied by a lengthy propagation delay. File transfer experiments are done over an experimental testbed to validate the model. |
