Summary:The paper discusses some of the issues on creation of mobile communication systems of the fifth generation. In particular, issues relating to the selection of the frequency range, features of the OFDM modulation and spectrum sharing. In the context of the selection of the operating frequency range for the 5G mobile communication systems mm-wave propagation principles are considered. Experimental results on the loss of the electromagnetic wave in the walls of buildings, as well as the dependence of loss in the air from the weather conditions. With software-defined radio system (SDR) in the mode of reception-transmission measured parameters of OFDM signal, for different numbers of sub-carriers and different types of modulations of these sub carriers (from the QPSK to the QAM-64).
