Description
Summary:Compliance to the electromagnetic standards is critical during the design of a PCB. The simulation tools existing in the industry using the Input/output Buffer Information (IBIS) models help in highlighting the signal integrity problems at earlier phases of design. The present paper discusses the signal integrity analysis carried out for digital bus of Autopilot System. Typical Autopilot System consists of Inertial Measurements Unit (IMU), Altitude Sensor, Programmable Controller/Processor and Power Module with required interfaces for external system. The IMU and Altitude (Pressure) sensor has been interfaced with controller using single digital Inter-Integrated Circuit (I2C) bus. The layout of clock and data lines of the I2C bus has been placed parallel from controller to respective sensors. This paper presents research activity toward the signal analysis of the data and clock lines for Autopilot System. In this paper the I2C bus has been analyzed for defined bit pattern in time domain and the respective results has been presented.
