Description
Summary:In this paper, an active-passive hybrid method using negative capacitance branch circuits is used to suppress structural vibration. When a negative capacitance is connected to a shunt circuit of a piezoelectric element, it can increase the electromechanical coupling coefficient of the system and consequently improve the damping effect of the passive control as well as raise active control voltage. The system model is established and its characteristics such as the dependence of the vibration amplitude on the negative capacitance are investigated. Experimentations are carried. Experimental results show that this method is able to suppress structural vibration effectively and has better control effect than the individual active control or passive control method.
