Summary: | The integration of voice and data traffic in our proposed centralized switch node architecture is considered. Specifically, the unfairness of the free round robin (FRR) scheduling strategy towards low priority traffic types is demonstrated by a comparison with a restricted bandwidth strategy called reserved round robin (RRR). The simulation results show that under heavy load conditions, RRR provides a more balanced scheduling of traffic types than the FRR, with only a moderate increase in the delay times of higher priority traffic types.< > |
