Summary:Lack of standardization in estimating the quality of diagnostic systems provides many possibilities in developing new methodologies. The paper deals with general method for determination of effectiveness of diagnostic systems in non-invasive diagnostics of thyroid. The result of presented methodology is a single number, which clearly depicts the quality of such a system with no need for further analysis. Together with the general design of such a system an overview of characteristics of a diagnostic system is described.
