Summary: | This presents the design and analysis of a wideband defected ground structure (DGS) antenna incorporating a novel metamaterial (MTM) slot. The proposed antenna achieves multi-band operation spanning from 2.9 GHz to 9.5 GHz, catering to various wireless communication applications including WiMAX, Wi-Fi, WLAN, and C-Band. Compact in size with dimensions of 31Ă—37mm^2 and a thickness of 1.8mm, the antenna utilizes a metamaterial-loaded monopole strip and a specific feeding mechanism to attain its wideband characteristics. With a dielectric constant of 4.4, FR4 Epoxy is the dielectric substrate that is utilized. The suggested wideband antenna's step-by-step design and analysis procedure is described in the study, with measurements of return loss and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). |
