Summary: | In the design process of radial magnetic bearings (RMBs), the maximum load capacity is a critical parameter. Under the condition of fixed stator inner and outer diameters, the maximum load capacity is closely related to the pole width. This article first derives the relationship between the two based on the ideal model. Furthermore, the saturation model is introduced to characterize the saturation of the iron core in practical cases, and a method is provided to determine the optimal pole width under different saturation magnetic flux density conditions. Based on the above analysis, finite element analysis (FEA) was employed for simulation, and the simulation results showed good agreement with the theoretical analysis results. |
