Description
Summary:A design of four-port MIMO monopole antennas with an EBG reflector operating at WRC 5G C-band (3.4-3.6GHz) for access point applications is proposed. There are four monopole antennas, four metal strips as ground, and an EBG reflector. The four monopole antennas are fed by SMA. The four antennas and metals as ground are printed on an FR4 substrate of permittivity of 4.4, thickness of 1.6mm and loss tangent of 0.0245. An EBG (Electromagnetic band-gap) is composed of 3x3 elements. The element of the EBG is a square patch with four truncated angles. The EBG is also printed on an FR4 substrate. The distance of the antennas and EBG is 3 mm. From the results of the design, the design could be applied to the WRC 5G C-band for access point applications. The simulated gains of the design is from 3.3-3.6dBi. The design with good performances and small size is suitable for WRC 5G C-band applications.
