Description
Summary:A new approach is presented in this paper to increase the data rate for dual function radar and communication (DFRC) based systems. This technique benefits frequency diversity and waveform diversity by combining Frequency Shift Keying (FSK) and the constellation of Quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM). One of the main advantages of this proposed technique is that we can facilitate the cellular wireless communication receiver in the main radar beam and side lobes without degrading the radar performance. Numerical results show that the proposed Frequency Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (FQAM) performance is far better than stand-alone FSK and QAM for the said system in terms of bit error rate (BER). The proposed design is simple to implement and has fewer computational complexities. Moreover, the proposed technique provides security against malicious users. Simulation results are presented to verify and validate the proposed technique.
