Summary: | Hubbard Broadcasting launched its satellite news gathering cooperative Conus in 1984 after seeing a need for local broadcasters to get national news stories rather than leftovers from the major networks they were affiliated with. Stanley E. Hubbard collaborated with F&F Productions eecutive George Ortega to build a traveling van with a Ku-band dish to provide the service. The cooperative now has a fleet of the trucks and about 60 television stations. |
