Summary:Ongoing military operations throughout the world have demonstrated an increased reliance on the cooperation and collaboration of many nations and multiple services that employ disparate systems and varying procedures. Although combined operations of the past seem similar on the surface, the coalition operations of today typically involve a greater number of nations with more complex systems. These complex systems, and their associated training systems, were typically acquired in isolation with little to no consideration given to interoperability.
