Summary:An octanol/water partition coefficient K sub ow is the ratio of the concentrations of the solute in the two phases that are created when water containing the solute is extracted with octanol. K sub ow values are of considerable use in an estimating other equilibrium constants needed for predicting the fate of chemicals in the environment. This paper reports K sub ow values for a number of compounds, some of which are unique to the military.
