Summary:Surface scattering strength (SSS) is one of key acoustic inputs to reverberation and active sonar models. This report presents significantly-updated results from 55 broadband SUS SSS measurements in 6 Critical Sea Test (CST) experiments. Since the time of the previously-published results of Ogden and Erskine (and Nicholas et al.), there has been a : 1) major reprocessing effort that extended the grazing-angle coverage of many data sets; 2) recalibration that particularly impacts the lowest frequency band results; 3) significant revision of all the CST wind-speed values; and 4) systematic removal of fish-scattering contributions. This reports documents the updated results, and archives the bistatic SSS data.
