ILLUMINATING SCALPEL FOR MILITARY FIELD USE

An illuminating scalpel for military field use was designed and prototyped. It contains a light source in its handle and a light-weight battery power source in a separate small plastic box at the end of a thin wire. The device proved useful in limited clinical trials. (Author)
