Summary: | Using collisional-radiative model codes, we calculate the ionic charge state distributions of Fe plasma produced in a $Z$-pinch experiment. The influence of the dilution factor (i.e., geometrical reduction factor) $\alpha$ on the simulated ionic charge state distributions is investigated. With the newly diagnosed plasma conditions, involving the dilution factor $\alpha$ and electron temperatures, the obtained ion ratios of Na and F as well as the ionic charge state distributions and average charge state $\langle Z\rangle$ of Fe are consistently in good agreement with experimental measurements for the first time. |
