| Summary: | Although the short form is becoming increasingly popular in our time, it also belongs to an ancient tradition whose story is one of the most popular, while the new one appears more like a city story. In fact, one uses the wonderful and the repetitive, the other, on the contrary, saves words, and gives them place and precise meaning. A Mauritanian writer, Beyrouk combines the two genres in his collection of Short Stories of desert (2009), where twenty short texts depict a society torn between desert traditions and the city’s attraction. In contrast to ancestral beliefs is the slow absorption of the city that corrupts and gnaws souls, and gives the whole collection the vocation of witnessing to a finitude of which he strives to preserve memory. La forma breve tiene un éxito creciente en nuestra época, pero pertenece también a una antigua tradición de la que el cuento es una de las más apreciadas en su proyección popular, mientras que la novela corta aparece más como una narración urbana. De hecho, uno usa lo maravilloso y lo repetitivo, la otra, por el contrario, ahorra las palabras, y les da lugar y sentido precisos. Beyrouk, escritor mauritano, combina los dos géneros en su colección de Noticias del desierto (2009), en la que veinte textos breves reflejan el desgarro de una sociedad entre tradiciones del desierto y atracción de la ciudad. A las creencias ancestrales se opone la lenta absorción de la ciudad que corrompe y carcome las almas, y da al conjunto de la colección, la vocación del testimonio de una finitud cuya memoria se esfuerza por conservar. La forme brève connaît un succès grandissant à notre époque, mais appartient aussi à une tradition ancienne dont le conte est l’une des plus prisées dans son rayonnement populaire, tandis que la nouvelle apparaît davantage comme un récit citadin. De fait, l’un use du merveilleux et du répétitif, l’autre, au contraire économise les mots, les pèse comme le ferait un fin pâtissier, afin que chacun ait une place et un sens bien précis, Beyrouk, écrivain mauritanien, qui allie les deux genres dans son recueil de Nouvelles du désert ( 2009) qui rassemble vingt courts récits qui reflètent le déchirement d’une société entre traditions du désert et attraction de la ville.
