Comparison of simulated results for CO fields at the flame front by the RANS and LES methods
Turbulent combustion of a lean methane–air mixture in a model combustion chamber behind a step is analyzed by numerical methods. Comparison of the RANS and LES methods shows that the neglect of pulsations in the RANS method may result in significant errors in the calculation of CO fields.
