Description
Summary:It is a great honor and privilege to have the opportunity to be the Editor-in-Chief of an IEEE Transaction and it is even a greater honor if that transaction happens to be in your area of passion. In my case, I was lucky to have the honor of being appointed as the EiC of IEEE Transactions on Biometrics, Behavior and Identity Science (T-BIOM). Biometrics has been my passion practically over three decades of my professional life. I'd like to thank the IEEE Biometrics council executive committee to bestow this opportunity on me by accepting my nomination. Since July 1, 2021, I've been learning a lot from my predecessor Prof. Kevin Bowyer. Those of you know Kevin personally, you can relate to the commitment and passion he brings to a role he takes. Being the founding EiC of IEEE T-BIOM, he had a lot on his plate and has streamlined the transaction. Almost over three years, I inherit a transaction in an excellent shape. Kevin continues to help me learning on the job and providing me guidance when difficult situations have risen. I'll continue to rely on his expertise and appreciate his counsel.
