Two coordination polymers: effect on the learning and memory impairment in epilepsy mice by regulating the mTOR signaling pathway

Under similar hydrothermal conditions, via using the mixed-ligand method, two 3-D coordination polymers (CPs) [Zn(HIPA)(bmimb)] n (1, bmimb = 1,4-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzene)) and [Cu 2 (HIPA) 2 (bmib) 3 ] n (2, bmib = 1,4-bis(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzene) were fabricated based on the reaction...

Description
Summary:Under similar hydrothermal conditions, via using the mixed-ligand method, two 3-D coordination polymers (CPs) [Zn(HIPA)(bmimb)] n (1, bmimb = 1,4-bis(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzene)) and [Cu 2 (HIPA) 2 (bmib) 3 ] n (2, bmib = 1,4-bis(1H-imidazol-1-yl)benzene) were fabricated based on the reaction of Zn(NO 3 ) 2 ·6H 2 O or Cu(NO 3 ) 2 ·3H 2 O with 5-(hydroxymethyl)isophthalic acid (H 3 IPA) when N-donor co-ligands were present. The compounds were evaluated to improve the learning and memory impairment in epilepsy mice and the relationship between the mTOR signaling pathway and epilepsy is discussed. To determine the influence of 1 and 2 on epilepsy mice cognitive function, the Morris Water Maze Test was performed. The mTOR signaling pathway expression levels were then detected with western blot.
