Summary: | More than 10 000 resolved rotational lines in the (2) 1Πu(C)–(1) 1Σ+g(X), (2) 1Πu(C)–(1) 1Πg, (2) 1Πu(C)–(2) 1Σ+g, (1) 1Πu(B)–(1) 1Σ+g(X), and (1) 1Σ+u(A)–(1) 1Σ+g(X) transitions of Rb2 have been accurately measured with the technique of Fourier-transform spectroscopy. The wave numbers of all the rotational lines were determined with an accuracy better than 5×10−3 cm−1. A thorough and simultaneous analysis of all the measured data yields molecular constants, potential-energy curves, and dissociation energies for five different excited electronic states. The observation of highly excited vibrational levels in the fundamental state (v″=112) leads to the value of the energy of dissociation: 3994.4±0.4 cm−1. |
