Description
Summary:Covering: October 2010 to December 2012. Previous review Nat. Prod. Rep. 2011, 28 , 388-399 This review summarizes recent work in the chemical ecology of pelagic marine ecosystems. In order to provide a comprehensive overview of advances in the field over the period covered, we have organized this review by ecological interaction type beginning with intraspecific interactions, then interspecific interactions (including mutualism, parasitism, competition, and predation), and finally community- and ecosystem-wide interactions. A review on chemically mediated ecological interactions in marine pelagic environments, including predator-prey, competitive, and intraspecific interactions as well as ecosystem level effects of plankton chemical cues. This review covers 65 research articles reporting new results from October 2010 to December 2012 (inclusive).
