Description
Summary:DOI: 10.1002/jssc.202100138 The cover picture shows the advances of mass spectrometry imaging analysis of plant tissues in recent years. Various of ionization techniques have been adopted to fulfill the requirement of MSI analysis of different plant tissues and analytes. The barriers and relevant technical developments were primarily summarized, including plant tissue preparation, novel matrix development and high spatial resolution imaging. Lastly, the applications of MSI analysis of main components in plant were reviewed. In all, this review indicated that MSI analysis of plant tissue is towards high spatial resolution and high sensitivity.
