General views of protest. Angry scenes of protesters approaching barricades set up by British troops (British Parachute Regiment), throwing stones and some spitting. Protestors holding others back from front of barricade, some wearing handkerchiefs over their faces.View behind barricade with soldiers in riot gear by military vehicles. Soldiers use water cannon and tear gas and gunfire can be heard.Tracking shot running along with British troops over the barricade and into streets of the Bogside Estate. Close shot of soldier firing live rounds behind armoured vehicle. British military commander's voice heard "Do not fire back for the moment, unless you identify a positive target".Interview with priest Father Edward Daly (eye-witness) on number of dead he has seen, "I would say there are probably about four dead at this moment... they seem to be very dead and they were thrown in as if they were dead meat". Ambulance arrives at scene carrying dead and injured away. Injured man helped into car.Interview with British Paratroop Colonel Derek Wilford just after riot at scene, asked about the dead "I suppose five is quite large under these circumstances, it is unfortunate... we came under fire from the bottom of the flats, from the flats we were also petrol-bombed and some acid, in fact, poured on us" . Footage of arrested people with their hands on their heads as they are marched along, including one woman.
